Hi, I’m Megan — owner and founder of Mainely Hounds LLC. Dogs have been my first love for as long as I can remember, and that passion has only grown over the years. Today, I help dogs and their humans build better relationships through thoughtful care, training, and understanding. I’m so glad you’re here.

a little more about me

If you had met me as a kid, you would’ve found me sitting on the floor with the dogs — and honestly, not much has changed. Dogs have always been at the center of my life.

I’m a proud dog mom to two Vizslas, Mulligan and Finnigan, and my Pitbull/GSP mix, Tallulah. They are the reason I chose this path and continue to inspire the way I work with dogs every day.

Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for dogs of all personalities — from happy-go-lucky family dogs to fear-aggressive dogs, and all the challenges that come with raising a puppy. Working closely with trainers and caring for my own dogs helped me realize that training and behavior weren’t just interests, but true passions.

I wanted to better understand dogs so I could give them the best life possible, no matter their background or challenges.

What started as a “hobby” turned into a calling after meeting an incredible trainer who encouraged me to take a leap of faith. I left my 9–5, became a certified dog trainer, and haven’t looked back. Since then, I’ve continued to take courses and expand my knowledge — because when it comes to dogs, there’s always more to learn.

I’m incredibly grateful to work alongside and learn from such amazing people in this field, and I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend.
